Zone Cross Country Meet
Girls

The GMS 7th grade team placed 5th out of the 9 schools competing in the Zone Cross Country Meet held on Saturday, Dec. 10th. The teams who competed were Colleyville Middle, Cross Timbers, Heritage Middle, Carroll, Dawson, and Coppell East, North, & West and of course GMS. The 8th grade girls place 7th out of the 9 school field.

Tuesday, Dec. 6

7th Grade Boys
Last night the Ponies ran in their 4th meet of the year. The 7th grade boys finished 3rd overall with a total of 52 points. Walker St. John finished 1st overall with a time of 8:42. Josue Granados finished 8th overall with a time of 9:11, Alex Guiterrez finished 9th overall with a time of 9:12, Joseph Avila finished 14th overall with a time of 9:21 and Skyler Wright finished 20th overall with a time of 9:47. The 7th grade B squad did an awesome job as well. Brian Guerva finished 1st overall with a time of 9:42, Gabriel Ponce finished 2nd overall with a time of 9:43. Christian Begley finished 10th overall with a time of 10:11.

8th Grade Boys
The 8th grade A team finished 3rd overall as well with a score of 62 points. Chris Molina finished 3rd overall with a time of 12:40, Orlando Martinez finished 4th overall with a time of 12:44. Joshua Espinoza finished 16th with a time 13:27 and Jason Tuney finished 18th with a time of 13:28. The 8th grade B team finished very strong. Tony Hernandez 7th place with a time of 14:20, Daniel Garcia finished 16th with a time of 15:03, Jacob Palacio finished 17th with a time of 15:05 and Aaron McDaniel finished 20th overall with a time of 15:15. Great Job Ponies. Our finale meet will be this Saturday at Bob Jones Park. Good luck Ponies.

Wednesday, Nov. 30

The 8th grade GMS cross country team placed 3rd out of the five teams at the GMS Invitational Cross Country meet. Rachel Sutliff again dominated the 8th grade girls competition by winning her 3rd straight meet.

The 7th grade girls placed 4th after juries and the departure of Abby Castellanos who moved to Tarrell, Texas, took their toll. New comer Danny Navarro placed 2nd in the 7th grade race.

The 8th Grade Boys A Team finished 4th overall with a point total of 85 points. Chris Molina finished 3rd overall with a time of 11:34, Joshua Espinoza finished 17th overall with a time of 12:20, Kahlil Bell finished 20th overall with a time of 12:42, Mason Edwards finished 22nd overall with a 12:44, Orlando Martinez finished 23rd overall with a time of 12:53, Jason Tuney finished 29th overall with a time 13:35.

Daniel Garcia finished 16th with a time of 13:30, Nate Jackson finished 19th overall with a time of 13:33, Aaron McDaniel finished 38th with a time of 14:07, Sam Lee finished 39th overall with a time of 14:11 and Alec Hankins finished 40th overall with a time 14:13.

7th Grade Boys

A Team – 2nd Place
The boys finished in 2nd place overall with a point total of 56. Walker St John finished 1st overall with a time of 8:00min. Josue Granados finished in 6th overall with a time of 8:34, Alex Guiterrez finished 12th overall with a time of 8:52, Skyler Wright finished 16th overall with a time of 9:03, Jacob Jimenez finished 21st overall with a time of 9:06,Brian Guerva finished 26th overall with a time of 9:26 and Michael Rose finished 31st overall with a time of 9:38.

Joseph Avila finished 2nd overall with a time 8:57, Julian Seacrest finished 4th overall with a time of 9:15. Rounding out the top 10 was Gabriel Ponce with a time of 9:34. Great night of competitions boys. Coach is proud of you!

Tuesday, Nov. 15

We finally received the cross country results from the Colleyville Heritage Cross Country Meet that took place on Tuesday, November 15th. Placing 1st for the second straight week was the 7th grade girls who defeated Heritage Middle, Carroll Middle, Coppell West and Colleyville Middle School. The 8th grade girls team placed 2nd place behind a strong West team. Rachel Sutliff dominated the 8th grade girls competition by winning by over 50 seconds. Naomi Jeter placed 2nd and Jacklen Molina placed 3rd to lead the 7th grade girls to the team victory.

The Grapevine Middle Girls cross country teams dominated the competition at the Coppell West Invitational Cross Country Meet on Thursday. The 7th grade girls placed 1st and the 8th grade team placed 2nd out of 5 teams. Leading the way for the ponies were Rachel Sutliff and Naomi Jeter, both winning their respective races.
